Los ensayos que conforman esta edición enteramente en inglés son producto del simposio Vivísimo Muerto: Debates on Surrealism in Latin America. Vivísimo Muerto, traducido al inglés como The Living Dead, es un hito en el análisis de la diáspora cosmopolita del surrealismo y de los participantes del movimiento, tanto en la literatura como en las artes visuales. Los ensayos aquí presentados abordan diferentes perspectivas tanto estéticas como ideológicas y políticas del movimiento en latinoamérica, sin atender a los obsoletos nacionalismos que hicieron difícil entender la macroestructura surrealista; a pesar de sus constantes discordias.
